SKYE on AOL Launches SKYE Weather + Photo App

2012 was definitely a year of unexpected, and unprecedented weather challenges. Hopefully, 2013 doesn't present the same ones – but severe weather tends not follow a schedule!

To help you chase the sun and run from the rain, the team behind AOL's weather site, SKYE on AOL, has just launched a new interactive app that brings the weather to you, wherever you are.

SKYE Weather + Photo offers real-time reports, user-generated photos from around the world and the ability to share weather forecasts across your favorite social platforms. And of course, it includes hourly and seven-day forecasts and a crowd-sourced weather reporting.

Give it a spin by downloading the app for your iPhone for free by clicking here.

The Weather Report is In: AOL and BermanBraun Launch Skye on AOL

To mark the first day of summer, AOL and BermanBraun today announced the launch of Skye on AOL, a visually appealing site that brings a new identity to weather on the Web. The site appeals to weather fanatics and temperature seekers alike and is seamlessly integrated with MapQuest to provide traffic and weather in tandem.

Skye on AOL marks the third site from AOL's collaboration with BermanBraun. Earlier this year we launched Mandatory, an online destination for men that marked AOL's entry into the male consumer lifestyle space, and Pawnation, a website that provides animal lovers with the latest pet lifestyle, nutrition, training, behavior and grooming news.

Live Traffic Cameras Now On MapQuest

They say "a picture is worth a thousand words", and we agree. So just in time to help you deal with mid-winter driving, we are happy to announce the arrival of traffic and road condition cameras on MapQuest.com.

To see the cameras, just click on "Live Traffic" in the upper right portion of your map. You'll see toggles for traffic cameras and traffic conditions (our extensive traffic speed and incident info), which you can show together or separately. Hovering on camera icon will show the location, and clicking on it will bring up the images (hint: zoom in closer if there are a lot of cameras in the area).

Our coverage consists of over 11,000 cameras covering 100+ markets in the US and Canada, and we'll be adding more soon. Update frequencies will vary, but most are updated every couple of minutes or so.

Now you can quickly visualize traffic and weather conditions before your morning commute or heading out on that weekend getaway. It's all part of our mission to help you get there safely and efficiently.

Check out MapQuest traffic cameras now.
