A 20-foot bright green MapQuest-branded balloon, 3-D map pins and a spin-to-win wheel were hard to miss yesterday in Times Square, where more than half-a-million people pass by every day. In addition, a free wifi "hotspot" made it easy for passersby to download MapQuest's apps and start exploring. MapQuest's local offerings stayed in the "lime" light as day turned to dusk and the Taste of Times Square Festival got under way. Nearly an additional 100,000 folks stopped by the nation's top tourism attraction and were delighted to find such a great way for discovering New York.

Next stop for the MapQuest Summer Activation Tour: The company's hometown Denver, where the balloon, map pad, spin-to-win wheel and now-famous fedora giveaways will be seen by 15,000 music aficionados at the funk festival, Westword Music Showcase on June 23.
