AOL App for iPhone & Android Has Arrived

We're pleased to announce the arrival of the AOL App for iPhone & Android. Staying true to our mission to inform, entertain and connect the world, the new app ensures you always have customizable news at your fingertips.

Whether you're interested in videos, trending stories or general lifestyle info, the app allows users to prioritize what they view in a "news stream" format, while learning preferences over time to reflect individualized programming based on personal interests.

If you'd like to share a story, you can quickly push out via email, Facebook and Twitter. Afraid that there's a ton of great material but not enough time to digest it all? No problem; you can also save your favorite stories and videos to access later.

Sit back, relax, and visit iTunes or Google Play to start perusing - and stay up-to-date with everything that matters to you!

Introducing the AOL App for iPad: Debuts at Number 1!

Today, we launched the AOL app for the iPad. Now available in the App Store, the AOL app ensures you always know what matters now.

Whether it is happening in Washington, Wall Street, Hollywood, or Main Street, the AOL app will always surface the day's key stories. The app learns a user's preferences and reflects individualized programming based on their personal news interests. The app allows users to actively customize their top level news stream to see more (or less) of the stories and videos they want. Users can also save stories or videos for later, or quickly share them via email, Facebook or Twitter.

We designed the app to let users create their own browsing experience. It delivers AOL's best news, videos, trending stories and lifestyle info, and presents them in an engaging "news stream" format.

In addition, the app gives AOL members integrated access to the brand-new, tablet-optimized AOL Mail experience. Members can read and send emails, easily email their favorite stories to friends, and scan newsletters and programming alerts without launching new apps or going into a separate environment.

This is just the beginning of our work on the AOL app. It harkens backs to our core values of making the Internet easy and fun. An app for the Android tablet, as well as mobile apps for both Android and iPhone, are in the works and will be available later this year. We will continue to add new features and look forward to feedback.

The app is available for download by following this link to the App Store on an iPad, or click here to receive an email with the link.

TechCrunch Launches App for Android Users

"Galaxy", "Nexus", "Droid" – if you love those words, you're one of two kinds of geek: the kind that's always looking for little green men from Mars, or the kind that obsesses over a little green guy from Mountain View, CA. Because we fall into the latter category (ok, so there is some overlap in that Venn Diagram), we've been hard at work to bring the best of TechCrunch within a mobile app to your phone for millions of Google's Android users.

Now, all that hard work has paid off and we're proud to announce that there is a new version of TechCrunch available for download on your Android device. If you're a Google aficionado with an Android tablet or phone, you can access all the latest tech news with full CrunchBase integration at your fingertips.
Why is this app so awesome? Because we said so...and you get:

  • Custom designed Android interface for your tablet and phone
  • The hottest news in tech with the Trending List
  • TechTweets showing the latest tech news hitting social media
  • An outstanding mobile experience for the original content on TechCrunch
  • Comprehensive integration with CrunchBase
  • Save articles for offline reading
  • Original video content available right on the home screen
  • Switched to the latest version of Google Maps to display maps quicker than the old version with less memory and network bandwidth!

So prove you're smarter than all your other "tech-expert" friends by getting the latest tech news and gossip a solid 20 minutes (an eternity in Internet speak) before they do.

Go ahead and download it here.
