Homepage for Heroes relaunched today with the new goal of creating opportunity for our troops. Homepage for Heroes partnered with Hire Heroes USA and AOL Jobs to give veterans tools and skills to use as they adjust to the civilian workplace after their time of service. On the site, veterans will find resume examples for each division of the military. Thanks to the editors at AOL Jobs, veterans will also find an article each day exploring topics like modernizing the resume and the best employers for veterans. AOLers who come to AOLHeroes.com will be encouraged to set their homepage to AOL.com for a chance to win their own laptop – a key job searching tool. AOL will also be donating a mobile computer lab (eight laptops in all) to Hire Heroes USA to aid veterans in their job search.

Homepage for Heroes is AOL's yearlong initiative to recognize, honor and support those who dedicate their lives to protecting and bettering ours. Launching in May of 2012, AOLHeroes.com raised 1M minutes of talktime through user engagement for the USO's Operation Phone Home connecting deployed troops to their family and friends back home. This past July and August, users wrote deployed troops, veterans and wounded warriors almost 20,000 letters which AOL is sending via Operation Gratitude Care Packages. Since its launch in May, Homepage for Heroes has been nominated for a PR News' Digital PR Award, and has also been featured in the daily web design galleries of Awwards.com and the FWA.com.

Hire Heroes USA (Hire Heroes) is dedicated to creating job opportunities for US military veterans and their spouses through personalized employment training and corporate engagement. Hire Heroes' services are provided at no cost to the veteran.

Exciting news! The AOL Homepage for Heroes microsite is being featured in the daily web design galleries of Awwwards.com, a site that recognizes and promotes the talent and effort of the best developers, designers and web agencies in the world, and theFWA.com, a site that highlights inspirational portals with industry recognition and awards.

Homepage for Heroes is AOL's yearlong project to recognize, honor and support our troops. On May 18^th, 3,000 AOLers got together for a day of service to celebrate our company's birthday - Monster Help Day. We assembled care packages for Operation Gratitude to be sent to troops overseas. In addition to sending snacks, toiletries and entertainment items, we wanted to give our users a chance to get involved by creating personalized letters of support and gratitude from compassionate Americans. We've taken our efforts one step further with the microsite, which turns a potential logistical nightmare into a fun, interactive and efficient way to collect letters. Homepage for Heroes, AOL's yearlong project to recognize, honor and support our troops, has just joined forces with Operation Gratitude to continue the mission of creating connection, support and opportunity for our troops. After reaching our June goal – 1,000,000 talk-time minutes raised for the USO's Operation Phone Home – we're excited to embark on the next phase of our mission.

In this phase of the site, visitors can show direct support for a military member and be provided a sweepstakes opportunity to visit with their own loved ones. Visitors can write a different deployed soldier daily, and letters will be printed and shipped overseas as part of an Operation Gratitude care package. We're also launching a Homepage for Heroes Facebook App giving users more opportunity to win one of five $50 travel cards daily, and a grand prize – airfare for a family of four.
