AOL Leads comScore Lifestyle Category

After a year of innovation and a commitment to creating world-class content for our female audience, we're thrilled to announce that AOL Lifestyle has reached the #1 spot in comScore's Lifestyle category. Ranking ahead of both Yahoo! Lifestyle Network and Meredith Digital with 33.1M UVs, the group jumped from "top five" to the Lifestyle category leader -- and continues to grow rapidly and deliver premium content and experiences to the 33M we reach monthly.

Kitchen Daily Wants to Know: Who is America's Favorite Chef?

Do you prefer Mario Batali's Italian cuisine to Paula Deen's Southern comfort food? Guy Fieri's no-frills diner dishes or Rachael Ray's simple cooking? Kitchen Daily has selected 20 of the nation's top celebrity chefs as nominees for America's Favorite Chef and now's your chance to share your choice.

Vote for your favorite and the chef with the most votes will be named America's Favorite Chef, receiving a donation to his or her charity of choice. If your favorite chef is falling behind, invite friends and family to cast their vote. Voters will be entered to win the ultimate blender, a Vitamix 7500.

StyleList Tops comScore, Kitchen Daily and Homesessive Gain Momentum

Following the recent relaunches of Kitchen Daily and StyleList, and the launch of Homesessive, AOL's Lifestyle portfolio is already gaining momentum. As reported in today's September comScore Media Metrix, StyleList is now ranked #1 in Style & Beauty. We also moved up six places in the Food category and four places in Home, and moved to #5 in Lifestyle overall.

Today's comScore Media Metrix numbers show our commitment to lifestyle content, and helping people who are looking for real tips and solutions across all areas of the lifestyle space and inspiring their personal style.

The AOL Lifestyle portfolio includes MAKERS, which launched earlier this year, as well as Kitchen Daily, StyleList and Homesessive.

Tweaking The Recipe: Announcing the New and Improved Kitchen Daily

With Thanksgiving just a week away, there's no better time to announce the launch of our redesigned Kitchen Daily, which has now moved to the HuffPost platform with blogs, comments, and all the latest social sharing tools.

My memories of growing up in Greece are filled with food -- fresh fruit and vegetables, a great deal of fish, and a seemingly endless amount of olive oil. My mother, to whom food was a sacred part of life, could be found most of the time in the kitchen. I think she truly believed that if you didn't eat every 20 minutes something terrible would happen to you. And, of course, no one could ever come to our house -- whether a UPS delivery man or a parent dropping off a child for a play date -- without being offered something to eat.

So I'm delighted that Kitchen Daily will approach food not just as sustenance but as something to be shared and enjoyed, over which we tell stories and spend time with family and friends. Kitchen Daily will be a one-stop destination for the best recipes, cooking tips, taste tests and product reviews.

We want to help satisfy everyone's curiosity about food, whether you're a mom cooking for your family, a recent college grad out on your own for the first time, a fledgling foodie, or an experienced cook. Kitchen Daily is overseen by Colin Sterling, the senior editor of HuffPost Food, who has been with HuffPost since before Day One -- and certainly long before there was a HuffPost Food. It will be edited by Kristen Aiken, a graduate of Barnard College, where she labored toward her goal of working for the New York Yankees. After writing and editing several years for the Yankees and then MLB.com, she changed gears and earned a degree from the French Culinary Institute. Before becoming our Kitchen Daily editor, she worked as an online editor at Martha Stewart Living.

AOL Shines at IPG Event


AOL took part in the opening party for the IPG Media Lab in New York last week. IPG is the fourth-largest ad agency holding company in the world and one of our key business partners. The Lab is IPG's latest investment in digital technology, a 5,000 square-foot space in midtown featuring a virtual closet, connected TVs, live social feeds and gadget of all shapes and sizes.

Both AOL's content and technology are featured prominently in the lab, including the oversize art by AOL artist Jason Gnewikow, who attended, featured prominently in the lobby. A post on the wall explains the AOL Artists program and directs people the site.

Another special AOL guest at the party was celebrity chef Sam Talbot, featured on AOL's Kitchen Daily and GMC Trade Secrets. Sam cooked up an appetizer of crab, blueberries and popcorn that surprised and delighted everyone.


Original research by IPG and AOL on the Devil unit is also highlighted on IPG's Engagement Wall, while the 3D BMW ad on Editions by IPG Agency UMWW is featured nearby on the Mobile Wall.
AOL's presence at the Lab is a wonderful example of how great partnerships with agencies are mutually beneficial. We look forward to what's next with IPG and the Lab!
