Tal Simantov Takes On Expanded Role to Drive International Growth For the AOL On Network

As you know, being No. 1 in video globally is one of AOL's strategic focus areas for 2014. As part of that effort, the AOL On Network has many ambitious goals this year, many of which we covered in the end of year meetings - and international expansion is at the top of the list. We have done a lot of hard work as a team to build our publisher network with unprecedented business deals, to create premium, original content that brands and advertisers want to associate with, to continue to develop state-of-the-art technology platforms and new products for delivering our premium content to consumers, and to further enhance our full video stack with the game-changing acquisition of Adap.tv. Now we're ready to take this strategy to new markets.

Having proven success in the US and Canada (with more than 300% growth this past year!), and with new markets waiting and ready for a premium video experience, I am very pleased that Tal Simantov will be leading our international efforts to take the AOL On brand global as VP, Global Video Strategy. Tal is working closely with Graham Moysey, Head of International, and will unveil our first international launch for 2014 in Q1.

As many of you know, Tal was a co-founder of 5min along with me and Hanan Laschover and led the post-acquisition rebranding of our platform to AOL On. There is no one that knows and understands the DNA of our brand better than Tal, who has served as the AOL On CMO for the past three years; and I know there is no one better to take our brand global. Tal will continue to lead all video marketing while taking on this expanded role. If you are lucky enough to see him during his upcoming international travel, please feel free to congratulate him in person on his new role!

Bienvenue Le Huffington Post Québec

Bonjour! As we celebrate the one-year anniversary of our acquisition of The Huffington Post, we are excited to continue our global expansion with the roll out of Le Huffington Post Quebec. Following the successful launch of Huffington Post Canada in May, the new site will be run by a strong locally-based editorial team with deep personal and professional roots in the province. Led by the site's managing editor, Patrick White, this French-language edition will encompass all things Québec and its staff will include Jean-Philippe Cipriani, as news editor and Tamy-Emma Pepin, as managing blog editor. Bloggers who will be contributing to the site include: Michel Martelly, Yves-François Blanchet, Michel Kelly Gagnon, Julius Grey, Anne Marie Withenshaw, and more. This is also the first time we'll have two HuffPost editions in the same country!

Find out more about the site from Arianna Huffington's blog post, and make sure you check out our other global sites, France's Le Huffington Post and The Huffington Post UK.

Bienvenidos a El Huffington Post

We're excited to announce that The Huffington Post has announced plans to partner with El País to create El Huffington Post, an international Spanish-language version of The Huffington Post. The partnership will combine HuffPost's powerful platform with a strong Spanish editorial network. El Huffington Post is recruiting an editorial team in preparation for its launch which will happen in the first quarter of 2012.

El Huffington Post will combine the local editorial expertise of El País, the leading Spanish newspaper and one of the most widely-respected global news dailies, with The Huffington Post's pioneering combination of original reporting, aggregation, leading-edge commenting forum, dynamic social-engagement tools, and vibrant platform for a wide range of bloggers. The partners will also focus on original editorial content through an affiliated network of journalists and bloggers.

This expands The Huffington Post's global presence which already includes HuffPost UK and HuffPost Canada. It comes on the heels of October's announcement about the launch of Le Huffington Post , a French-language edition of the site, to be run in conjunction with The Le Monde Group and Les Nouvelles Editions Independantes.
