Well, at least online it's going to be, as we see the Internet evolve from an ecosystem driven by search links and social fodder to one where personalized experiences are the norm.

As we usher in this new era, AOL has put itself ahead of the competition by agreeing to acquire Gravity, the leader in Internet personalization. We expect Gravity to make an impact across our entire business for consumers, advertisers and publisher partners.

MapQuest Shares Summer Travel Infographic



MapQuest just released its latest infographic to make it easier to visualize what people are searching for this summer. (Also see the data eye candy we shared in March.) Big data shows us our users love national parks, so we created parks.mapquest.com as a completely devoted resource for information on the 58 U.S. national parks. Many travelers visit these iconic destinations for overnight trips between Memorial Day and Labor Day, and even more stop at them along the way - called via points - the most popular being Yellowstone.

Even if consumers aren't planning a trip across country, MapQuest can help people plan a backyard escape that takes only an afternoon. Last summer, we helped more than 9 million people find a nearby place to get ice cream.

While we can't lower the high gas prices, we can tell people where the least expensive places to fuel up are. Gasprices.mapquest.com shares where to find the cheapest gas nearby, so, if travelers do go to the Grand Canyon, the trip there will be even easier by finding the least expensive gas stations and prices along the way.

MapQuest Shares Data Eye Candy

With literally millions of data points pulsing through MapQuest's products each day, we find it easier to visualize and ultimately make use of the information as an infographic, rather than a standard spreadsheet. According to comScore data for February, more than 35 million people each month searched for maps, directions and places such as restaurants, airports, hotels and top brands -- data is something we have a lot of and it tells us a lot about what's interesting to our users.

We even used this MapQuest data about where people like to go to create MapQuest Vibe, our local discovery product.
