AOL Invades the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show

Continuing the momentum from last year's show AOL will have prominent presence at 2012 International CES®, delivering original demos, up to the minute reporting and exclusives, and for the first time, we will bring the world class AOL Studio to CES.

Here's a preview of what you can expect from AOL at the CES:

The AOL Studio, prominently located in the grand lobby at the front entrance the Las Vegas Convention Center, will play host to real-time video coverage from the event with live broadcasts and interviews by the editors from Engadget (the official online news source of the 2012 International CES®), TechCrunch and AOL Autos. Attendees can see product reviews, demos and exclusive interviews with celebrity and tech luminaries.

This year, AOL is excited to announce AT&T as the exclusive sponsor of Engadget's CES content. Like AOL, CES is an important show for AT&T; it's the venue for the company's annual Developers Summit which attracts thousands of consumer and enterprise application developers who are taking advantage of AT&T's tools, technologies and expertise. As part of its sponsorship, AT&T will work with Engadget to spotlight developers who are collaborating with AT&T to bring compelling new mobile apps to life. AT&T also will display some of its hottest devices in AOL's Studio gadget wall.

David Christopher, Chief Marketing Officer, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets tells us, "We know so many of our customers trust Engadget to wring every last bit of news out of CES – and we're excited to sponsor the site's massive reporting presence and help readers get their gadget fix."

Seattle Interactive Conference Recap

Over 200 media professionals filled a packed conference room on Wednesday at Seattle Interactive Conference's hour long panel -- Alleviating the Confusion, The Acrimony Around Acronyms. Advertising.com's Doug Boccia joined leaders from AT&T, BlueKai, AdReady, and Audience Science on stage to discuss the complex online advertising ecosystem, terminologies used, and methodologies available to reach the right user.

Conversations around audience targeting, data usage, and performance measurement were followed by best practices for Advertisers on driving successful marketing programs. Quality of data, quality of inventory, and quality of technology all play an important role in a successful campaign. Brand marketers can leverage audience targeting if they have done their research and know their consumers, while direct response marketers may need to weigh the cost of audience data in relation to reaching a target ROI. Find and work with trustworthy media partners who can guide an Advertiser to the best solutions based on their needs.

Each campaign is different, each objective is unique. As more players and technologies enter the online media space, both Advertisers and Publishers need to take the time to understand how each piece fits into this ecosystem, how each works with the other, in order to make the decisions best for their business demands.

ANA Conference: Final Recap

The annual ANA Masters of Marketing was a marketer's dream. The final days taught us some incredible and hilarious things! We learned how worm poop can inspire an entrepreneur to create an ecologically intelligent business model, that a vending machine can do wonders for selling carrots, and how Jay-Z's "99 Problems" can help increase purchase intent. No matter where you went, you were sure to hear someone remark to another, "Aren't these speakers incredible?" And yes, they were just that good. Take a look at some highlights of the conference on our Advertising Trade Site.
