Most automobile manufacturers these days have installed gadgets and interactive features that offer drivers comfort, safety and fun. But how many of these are really innovative?

The team at AOL Autos set out to cut through the clutter and select the most technology-minded companies with their first ever Technology of the Year Award. The six finalists for this award were announced by the editors earlier this week with one Grand Prize winner to be awarded in January at the 2013 International CES in Las Vegas.

Here are the finalists:

Telematics:
  • Cadillac CUE
  • Audi connect with Google Maps Street View

Connectivity:
  • Chrysler Uconnect Access
  • MyFord Mobile

Active Safety:
  • Nissan Tire Pressure Alert & Refill System
  • Honda LaneWatch™

The judging panel will consist of 16 journalists from AOL Autos, Autoblog, and Engadget, and judge number 17 – you, the public! The finalist with the most nominations on AOL Autos will win the public vote.
