Labor Day has come and gone, and many of you have been snapping those memorable "first day of school" photos of your kids heading off to the first day of class. But you're not the only ones going back to campus! This fall, the College Recruiting team will be promoting AOL as a great place to work by sharing stories about internships, innovation, and culture, while engaging with the top talent at career fairs, information sessions, club meetings and on-site visits.
Last year's popular campus visits brought AOL a large pool of very successful interns, entry-level hires, and recent MBA graduates who were ready to put their freshly-sharpened skills to work. This year, our team is trying to outdo ourselves by engaging even more impressive students from around the country.
Three teams of enthusiastic AOL employees have already met over 300 students at local New York Campus Fairs:
- NYU Alumni, Mallika Bolla and Zach Kazin (both with AOL On) joined Sales Trainer Taryn Rosada and myself to meet scores of engineers, journalists and marketing hopefuls at New York University's annual career fair last Thursday.
- Ellie Krupnick (HuffPost Style) and Gabby Ferrara (Advertising.com), alumni of both Barnard University and AOL's Internship program, engaged students from their alma mater last Friday, resulting in an increase of qualified applicants for open internship opportunities.
- The Huffington Post Design Team, including Ken Jansson, Peter Chao and Amanda Chan, were impressed by the creative talent they discovered at Parsons' annual Internship and Career fair held last week.
Next up? We're off to campuses nationwide to fill internship and full-time roles. Look out for us at career fairs, club meetings and networking sessions at Carnegie Mellon, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, UC Berkeley, Virginia Tech, University of Maryland and many more!
